• Paid ZTL for vehicles with more than 5 seats

  Since 15 April 2024, vehicles with more than 5 seats including the driver (private cars, taxis and NCC alike) pay to enter the ZTL along Viale Pasitea – Piazza dei Mulini – Via Colombo: €5 for a single daily transit. The rule only concerns vehicles with more than 5 seats, such as 7- or 9-seat people carriers.

• How to pay: ztlpositano.it within 72 hours

  Payment is made on the Comune's portal www.ztlpositano.it after registering; visitors without an Italian tax code, for example from abroad, register as a private individual. The fee must be paid within 72 hours of entering the ZTL; a €100 monthly permit also exists.

• The pass does not allow stopping on the route

  For vehicles with more than 5 seats, the ZTL pass only allows driving through: neither parking nor stopping is permitted along Viale Pasitea, Piazza dei Mulini and Via Colombo, and violations are fined under the Highway Code.

  The Comune advises taking the A3 Naples–Salerno motorway, leaving at Castellammare di Stabia, following signs for the Sorrento Peninsula and, at Meta di Sorrento, following signs for Positano – Amalfi Coast.

• Alternate plates 2026: calendar up to Positano

  Alternate-plate rules apply only on the SS163 Amalfitana, about 40 km from Vietri sul Mare to Positano, 10:00–18:00. In 2026 they applied every day in August and September; in October only on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (still 24, 25 and 31 October).
