• Peninsula ZTL: one gate, pre-authorised plates only

  The ZTL covers the historic centre from the Grotte di Catullo to the junction of Largo Goethe and Viale Marconi and has a single camera-controlled gate: you may enter only if your plate has been authorised and entered into the system in advance. The speed limit inside is 30 km/h; fines range from €83 to €333.

• Welcome Point: a ticket if you are not authorised

  At the Welcome Point before the centre, plates already authorised use a dedicated lane. Drivers not on the list get a ticket with their plate from the attendant: it allows a stop of up to 2 hours in Piazzale Porto or on Lungolago Diaz or, for guests of hotels in the centre, completing registration on arrival at the hotel.

• Grifo Parking for guests of hotels in the centre

  Guests of historic-centre hotels without parking leave the car at Grifo Parking in Piazzale Europa: they get a QR code to come and go on their own and are driven free of charge to the hotel with their luggage in electric cars. Staff are on site 8:00–22:00 in high season (Fri–Sat to 23:00) and 8:00–21:00 in low season.

• Monte Baldo car park: 2026 rates

  The Piazzale Monte Baldo car park, the main one serving the historic centre, is open 24 hours. In 2026 it costs €3.50 per hour and €28 per day in high season (1 March–1 November); from 2 November to 23 December €1 per hour and €6 per day on weekdays, €2.50 per hour and €18 per day on Sundays and holidays.

• Europa, Marconi, Diaz: €4 an hour, 8 hours max

  The paid car parks right by the centre – Piazzale Europa (50 spaces), Viale Marconi (64) and Lungolago Diaz (38) – cost €4 per hour in the 2026 high season (1 March–1 November). Parking is allowed from 7:00 to 24:00, for 8 hours at most.

• Summer 2026: 31 car-free afternoons in the centre

  In 2026 the summer ZTL regime ran from 23 March to 13 October. On 31 days between 4 April and 27 September, from 14:00 to 19:00, all vehicles were banned from the historic centre, even when leaving, except emergency services, documented emergencies and electric golf carts for guests and luggage.

• A4 Sirmione exit or SR 11 bypass; no railway station

  By car, take the A4 Turin–Trieste motorway to the Sirmione exit, or the SR 11 bypass to the Sirmione exit. Sirmione has no railway station: the nearest are Desenzano del Garda and Peschiera del Garda, on the Milan–Venice line.
