• Historic-centre ZTL: gates and summer hours

  The 'Centro Storico – Medievale' ZTL is entered through the gates at Piazza Massimo (no. 7) and Via del Colle. From 1 April to 31 October unauthorised vehicles are banned Monday to Saturday 07:00–14:00 and 17:00–02:00, and on Sundays and holidays 14:00–02:00.

• From 1 November the ZTL ends at 23:00

  From 1 November to 31 March the historic-centre ZTL applies Monday to Saturday 07:00–14:00 and 17:00–23:00, and on Sundays and holidays 14:00–23:00: in the evening it ends at 23:00 instead of 02:00 as in summer.

  The historic-centre ZTL keeps free-access windows: Monday to Saturday 14:00–17:00, and on Sundays and holidays 07:00–14:00, except the first Sunday of each month.

• Hotel guests: plate on the 'white list'

  Hotels, B&Bs and holiday homes located in the ZTL add the guest's car plate to a 'white list', even up to the day after entry: transit with a short stop of at most 1 hour to load and unload luggage is allowed.

• Villa d'Este: exit Tivoli or Castel Madama

  For Villa d'Este, from Rome leave the A24 at Tivoli and follow the Maremmana Inferiore to the Via Tiburtina, then the centre; from L'Aquila leave at Castel Madama and take Via Empolitana and Via Acquaregna. The site warns drivers to watch out for the ZTLs.

• Villa d'Este: Rocca Pia car park or Piazza Garibaldi

• Villa Adriana: 2.5 km from the Tivoli exit

  For Villa Adriana (Hadrian's Villa), leave the A24 at the Tivoli toll gate and follow the Maremmana Inferiore for about 2.5 km to the Villa Adriana district, then follow the signs. There is a paid car park in front of the entrance.
