• Evening summer ZTL: zones and 2025 hours

  In summer 2025, from 15 June to 15 September, the evening ZTL around the centre (ZTL A from Via San Benedetto Po to the start of Corso della Libertà; ZTL B on Via IV Novembre, Via Cesare Battisti, Via Vespucci, Piazza Pascoli, Via Ettore Socci and Via Veneto) ran Sunday to Thursday 20:30–24:00 and Friday and Saturday 20:30–01:00. In ZTL B cars parked before 20:30 could stay; in ZTL A both driving and parking were banned.

• Hotel guests in the ZTL and 15-minute tolerance

  Under the rules approved on 15 January 2026, hotels and other lodgings inside the ZTL can register their guests' cars to load and unload luggage at any hour, with a 30-minute stop at most and the arrival time on display; the property must enter the plate and arrival and departure dates on the online portal within 48 hours of entry. A 15-minute technical tolerance always applies to the hours at the camera gates.

• Old town and Castello now a pedestrian area

  Since late 2025 the old-town ZTL and the medieval Castello quarter in the main town have been turned into an urban pedestrian area (APU), with new access hours and rules (Giunta resolution 47/2025 and order 180/2025).

  Paid parking run by the municipal company Castiglione 2014 includes Piazza Ponte Giorgini (220 spaces) and Piazza Garibaldi; Via della Torre and Via Veneto are paid from 1 April to 31 October, Viale Tirreno and Piazzale Salebro from 1 June to 15 September, the Rocchette area from 1 May to 30 September and, at Punta Ala, Via Castello and Via Cala del Pozzo from 1 June to 15 September. • Fixed speed cameras in the orange boxes

  On 17 October 2026 the Comune announced that speed checks would restart the following week at the authorised fixed sites, the clearly visible and signposted orange boxes. There is a single speed meter, moved in rotation from one box to another.

• Rocchette road being resurfaced, new roundabouts

  Since 29 April 2026 the Strada Provinciale delle Rocchette, busy in summer with campsites and holiday homes, has been under renovation between the turn-off and Serignano. Roundabouts are then planned at the Pian di Rocca junction (2026/2027) and at the Punta Ala junction (2027–2028).
