Summer 2026 ZTL: Via Cappuccini and San Francesco di Paola
From 15 June to 15 September 2026 the electronic gates of the seasonal ZTL zones were switched back on: Via Cappuccini from 20:00 to 6:00 and Via San Francesco di Paola from 18:00 to 6:00.
Hotel and B&B guests: plate sent within 48 hours
Under ordinance no. 20 of 2022, if guests must pass the electronic gates to reach a property inside the ZTL, the hotel or B&B sends the car’s plate to the Polizia Locale within 48 hours of entry and it is added to the list of authorised vehicles.

Blue bays: three zones and rates
Under the 2024 parking regulation, Zone A (including Parcheggio San Giovanni Paolo II and Lungomare Kennedy) costs €2 an hour or €15 a day, Zone B (e.g. Via del Porto) €1.50 an hour or €12 a day, Zone C (Via Alimini, Viale Europa) €1 an hour or €9 a day; minimum half an hour.
Paid parking: April–October, 8:00 to 2:00
Under the 2024 regulation, blue bays are paid from 1 April to 31 October, 8:00 to 2:00 at night; from 2:00 to 8:00 parking is free. On Wednesdays the Parcheggio Orte cannot be used from 7:00 to 15:00.
Summer 2026: no parking in pine woods off the road
From 15 June to 15 September 2026, a Regione Puglia decree banned parking motor vehicles in all wooded areas, such as coastal pine woods, away from paved or gravel roads; fines ranged from €1,032.91 to €10,329.14.
From Lecce: SS16 to Otranto via Maglie
The last stretch of the SS16, run by ANAS, is about 42 km long: it starts south of Lecce, passes Maglie and reaches Otranto, where the Adriatica highway ends (km 1,000).
